Boho Industrial Studio

Hello everyone! Today is our first day back to the grind after our LA adventure, of which you can learn all about here, and watch in my highlights here! The trip was the perfect balance between funwork and play! Stay tuned for a post letting you know everywhere we went, everything we did, and – most importantly – everything we ate!!

In the meantime, here is some global industrial inspiration! This loft feels really young and colorful. My Favorite piece by far is the concrete pendant from Serena and Lily.

I like to design with a particular person in mind, and here I give a short description of who I think that person is and what their lifestyle is like. This makes designing more fun and meaningful, since design is about describing someone visually in order to help you get to know them. In these posts I reverse the process!

A young couple’s first apartment together. Ethan and Olivia moved to this Tulsa Studio apartment 6 months ago and, even though they stumble through the beginnings of adulthood, they revel in their “ownership” of the 850 sq. ft. studio. Their styles, mercifully, are very similar to one another’s, which curtails arguments on THAT score. Both favoring global and industrial elements with modern touches and an eclectic atmosphere. Ethan is a barista by day and stand-up comedian by night. He has big blue eyes and is obsessed with anything coconut flavored. Olivia is a part-time student of marketing with a social media concentration and part-time dog-walker. She has long, blond, hair and likes to tie it back with a green strip of linen. Olivia likes to experiment with different flavors of homemade hummus, using Ethan as a taste tester. Somehow she can never get it right. What she doesn’t know, and what Ethan doesn’t have the heart to tell her is that he doesn’t really like hummus all that much.
